Holzstock Indie Festival Music Contest 2024

Welcome to the Holzstock Indie Festival Music Contest, an exciting opportunity for emerging indie, post-punk, post-metal, and garage music artists and bands in Romania! Organized by the European Center for Youth Meetings – Hosman Fortress Church in collaboration with Mellowdy Studios, this contest is designed to discover and promote the next big names in the indie music scene.

Who Can Participate?

We invite solo artists and bands who are passionate about their music and primarily based in Romania. Whether you’re a solo act or a group of musicians, if your sound falls under the genres of Indie, Post-punk, Post-metal, or Garage, and you have limited resources, this contest is for you!

How to Enter

Registration Period: 1-12 July 2024

  1. Fill Out the Registration Form: To participate, complete the online registration form available here. Ensure you provide your artist or band name, contact details, and the song you’re entering with.
  2. Submit Your Entry: Make sure to submit your form by 12 July 2024, 23:59. Late entries will not be considered.

Selection Process

  1. Eligibility Announcement (15 July 2024): After the registration period, our jury will review all entries and announce the eligible participants on our website and social media channels.
  2. Public Voting (15-28 July 2024): Eligible participants will move on to the public voting stage. Spread the word and gather support! The top 10 participants with the most votes will advance to the final round.
  3. Final Jury Selection (29 July – 16 August 2024): Our distinguished jury, including experts from Mellowdy Studios, Control Club, Radio Guerrilla, OneDay Live, and Holzstock Indie Festival, will evaluate the finalists based on stage presence, performance, song composition, and musical identity.

Prizes

  • Recording Session: The grand prize winner will receive a free two-day recording session at Mellowdy Studios, including post-production work and accommodation.
  • Festival Performance: The winner will also perform at the 2025 edition of Holzstock Indie Festival with a remuneration of 500 Euros.
  • Wildcard: The jury may select an additional participant for a wildcard entry, offering them a performance spot and remuneration at the 2025 festival.
  • Free Festival Access: All finalists will receive free access to the 10th edition of Holzstock Indie Festival, taking place from 16-18 August 2024 at the fortified church in Hosman, Sibiu.
