Workshops

We are hosting various interesting and fun workshops at the festival. Here is a selection.

AnaMaria Domokos: Expressions of Kitties

Hello, my name is AnaMaria Cozneac, and I am a graduate of the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, where I completed my Master’s in Fashion Design – Textile Design. I also completed a pedagogy module with the aim of becoming a teacher of decorative arts in the future.

I am excited to invite you to my workshop titled “Expressions of Kitties” at an upcoming event that brings together individuals from various art spectrums. This workshop focuses on creating toys and decorative items shaped like kittens from recycled materials, tapping into our inner childhood which defines the essence of humanity. These handcrafted items vary in colors, materials, and sizes, made from recycled clothes and fabric scraps to promote reusability. The expressions of the kittens are crafted through embroidery and textile markers.

This creative endeavor aims to rejuvenate childhood joys through a personal and inventive approach with textiles. I look forward to working together and crafting unique, personalized kitten toys and decorative objects. Join me for a fun and inspiring session!

Dorina Buian: Succulents in a Jar

The “Succulents in a Jar” workshop offers a creative and hands-on gardening experience. Scheduled for a relaxing Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this event is designed to bring the community together through fun and learning.

The workshop accommodates up to eight participants at a time, welcoming those as young as 10 years old, with younger children allowed if accompanied by an adult.

During the 30-minute to one-hour session, attendees learn to care for and creatively arrange succulents in jars, taking home their miniature gardens as a memento. While the workshop is free, donations are accepted to cover material costs, supporting the continuation of these community events.

This chapter highlights the spirit of community and creativity, illustrating how such activities connect people to nature and each other in meaningful ways.

Magic on Stage: Madalina’s Theater Workshop

In the vibrant heart of Timisoara, amid the bustling excitement of a local festival, Madalina Gligor holds the reins of creativity. A co-founder of the “Cuib cu Teatru” project and a fervent advocate for personal development through theater, Madalina brings her passion and expertise to children eager to explore the theatrical arts. With a background enriched by her studies in Acting at the University of West Timisoara—where she is not only a graduate but also a current master’s candidate—she crafts workshops that promise more than mere acting skills.

Madalina’s theater workshops, designed for children starting at the age of five, are a blend of individual and group activities. They are constructed to be an immersive introduction to the arts and a fun-filled escape for both children and their parents. Her approach is deeply rooted in the belief that theater is a powerful tool for building character and values, not just for producing actors. She emphasizes that her goal is to nurture ‘people of value’ through artistic expression.

During the festival, Madalina celebrates eight years of her theatrical journey, which began when she was just fifteen. Known for her boundless energy and a sprinkle of ‘fairy dust,’ she captivates the young audience by incorporating socially relevant themes into simple, engaging play. The workshops serve as a platform for children to not only experience but also to express themselves through art, under the gentle guidance of a devoted mentor who sees her participants as kindred spirits. This chapter at the festival is yet another chapter in her ongoing mission to enrich lives through the magic of theater.
